I spent the entire day in a conference room on the University of California, Davis campus listening to research reports and plans related to a large conifer genetics project that I have been a part of for the past few years. I also spent a good deal of the time working to finish off the grant proposal, which did get submitted on time in no small part because I continued working through a good part of the meeting.
Last night Gi and I had great burgers at the Burger & Brew (go figure). I highly recommend the bacon, jalapeno cheeseburger with a pint (or two) of Arrogant Bastard Ale. This is the first time I've happened into a place where they've had it on tap. In my book, it ranks right up there with Athens' own Terrapin Rye Pale Ale.
Anyway, after some vacillation, I've decided that it would probably be prudent to go ahead and get new tires put on the bike on Tuesday morning before heading to the coast, so I will skip out of the remainder of the meeting. Besides, I got the grant proposal finished and sent off to Eileen for a final check before submission.
